IRIS Run for Refugees in New Haven, CT – TEAM SUUS, February 13, 2022

Dear SUUS Families,

WOW! Faith Formation was really feeling the LOVE last week! TEAM SUUS raised $720 for the IRIS RUN for REFUGEES and 27 BIRTHDAY KITS were packaged for the Madison Food Pantry at the Valentine’s Day Party with more kits to go (we just ran out of bags!)! WOOHOO! There are many thank you’s to go around and tons of photos to share, so I’ll get started!

THANK YOU Scott Swenson & Enrique Alvarez for leading TEAM SUUS in body & spirit last Sunday, and to your faithful teammates who showed up to walk virtually or in the snow with you! GOOOO Ava, Beth, Maryann AND Coral (the four legged pup sporting a fancy tie-dyed frock!) Team SUUS met and exceeded their goal of $300, but IRIS is still trying to reach their goal of $100,000. You can still help make it happen by donating here!

THANK YOU Jennifer Swenson for an AMAZING Valentine’s Day extravaganza at SUUS! It was a CREATION STATION SENSATION! Heart shaped suet bird feeders were made outside the fellowship hall while snowflakes dusted the ground. Inside, ingredients were gathered to make soups for the SOUPerbowl happening later that evening. Valentine’s Day cards were created for SUUS members and loved ones. Jewelry was designed and gifted between friends. Cupcakes were decorated and thoroughly enjoyed by all, and EVERYONE worked together to create beautiful Birthday Kits for Madison Food Pantry! It was a wonderful gathering that filled our HEARTS with LOVE & JOY!

For all of the hard work and dedication of our FAITH FORMATION TEAM, we will take this Sunday off from activities, but don’t forget to tune in for the ZOOM service at 10:30am for a special STORY for ALL presented by Laura Martino and the Racial Justice Team in honor of Black History Month.

Have a fabulous weekend and winter break! I look forward to seeing you soon!

Love,
Amy
