On the suggestion of the Racial Justice Group, we will share our plate in June with the Open Communities Alliance, a Connecticut-based civil rights organization that promotes access to opportunity for all people through education, organizing, advocacy, research, and partnerships.
Their particular goal at the moment is advocating for Fair Share Zoning, a system calling upon each town in the state to play a role in hosting a fair portion of the need for affordable housing. Part of that effort is supporting HB 6611, the Fair Share Zoning Act. Please visit the Alliance’s website at https://www.ctoca.org/ to learn about their policies and efforts.
