Faith Formation Happenings: 12/11

Last Week:
SUUS was jam packed last Sunday for a number of special events!  One of which, was our CoA youth “Meet & Greet” breakfast with their mentors. Did you smell the pancakes and bacon?!  I know I did and it was divine!  Thank you, Sue Schaedler for cooking and to our other CoA advisors (Benna Lehrer, Nancy Shapiro & Laura Kasprow) for all of your help coordinating this wonderful event!

While the youth enjoyed breakfast, Dumbledore’s Army was busy practicing their charms in class as they conquer the poverty horcrux. I heard that a popular one was “Stupify!” This charm will stun an opponent making them temporarily insensible. Watch out for the “Stupify” charm at home!

Thank you to all who have contributed gifts under the Giving Tree so far.  There are still a few ornaments left.  This Sunday is the final day to donate.  Please be in touch if you want me to grab an ornament for you before then.

Hopefully the zen gardens from our Faithful Journeys class made it home safely!  The children focused on spiritual growth and practices last week and each designed a zen garden as an example.  Check out this picture and be sure to give it a try at home.  It truly is a simple and peaceful practice.

This Week:
This Sunday, December 15, we will have regularly scheduled classes.  CoA parents: Please be in touch no later than Friday, December 13 if your youth is NOT ABLE to attend class.  Thank you!

Upcoming:

December 22:  Holiday Caroling!  10:30am departure from the Living Room.  Pen Pals are invited to join the children if they are able.

December 24:  Christmas Eve Multigenerational Worship Service for All Ages at 5:00pm.  Our annual carol sing will begin at 4:30pm.  Fa, la, la, la, la!

This Sunday I will not be at church, but Benna Lehrer will on site if you need anything.  Thank you, Benna!

Have an excellent day, and I look forward to hearing all of the details when I am back next week!

In kindness,
Amy
