Update from Recent Palestine Museum Visit

Social-JusticeSUUS Activities & Events Committee led a visit to the Palestine Museum in Woodbridge last Sunday where they viewed the art collection, including elaborate traditional embroidery in styles unique to individual Palestinian villages.  They also saw pictures by Palestinian children responding to the bombing of Gaza in recent years.  The children’s art work has been banned from showing at other venues, as censorship of Palestinian films, books, lectures, meetings, academic and musical presentations is widely practiced in the United States and this is the only museum of its kind in our country.  Congratulations to the SEA for sponsoring this visit about an oppressed indigenous people, following SUUS’s acknowledgement of Indigenous People’s Day last month.
